The Sous Chef performs as a lead role and directly assists the Head Chef for the organizations in kitchen and restaurant. This position maintains the day-to-day operations in the kitchen, private events, and food operations for the company headquarters. The Sous Chef absorbs additional responsibilities in the Head Chef’s absence to ensure that kitchen staff have proper direction to maintain quality of service and standards.

Essential Responsibilities
Partners with management to run and execute daily service, catered events, and ensuring all food & beverage stations throughout the restaurant are adequately equipped
Ensures all team members follow established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards
Maintains and teaches knowledge of all menu items and descriptions to provide info to guests and team members
Maintains daily service standards in the Head Chef’s absence
Coordinates all food and beverage needs throughout HQ with internal teams
Controls food cost through ordering and pricing
Develops menu for non-fixed menu items such as daily specials, soups, and grab-and-go
Helps manage, onboard, and train new and temporary employees
Writes and maintains weekly schedule. Monitors employee hours in relation to labor costs
Provides input and objectives for disciplinary action and annual employee performance reviews

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum four years of culinary experience is required
Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and shift exceeding eight hours
Basic computer and email skills are required
Excellent knife skills are required
Knowledge of kitchen and food safety
Ability to work quickly and effectively with others
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to follow direction
Comfortable working under deadlines, high stress, high pressure situations
Current food-handlers card or ability to obtain within one week of hire is required

This Position is Salary Based on Experience. Pay higher than average.
