MANAGER – FURNITURE OPERATIONS AND LOGISTICS

The Manager – Furniture Operations and Logistics is responsible for all aspects of Furniture Delivery and Logistics for the company. Manager will provide day-to-day leadership for the Installation Teams and is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, motivating, scheduling, evaluating, and terminating members. Manager will coordinate the spectrum of furniture and services required to successfully perform on large projects as well as individual items. Works with Sales Reps to ensure that Customers are delighted with their furniture and work performed, and the company gets paid timely and in full
.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
1. Hire, train, and retain workforce required to provide knowledgeable furniture installations.
2. Supervises all Foremen, Installers, and Warehouse personnel.
3. Perform personnel reviews and evaluations.
4. Maintain open lines of communication with immediate Supervisor and Senior Management
5. Schedule vendor trucks going to Guernsey warehouses, sub-contractors, or customer sites
6. Perform Shipping and Receiving when needed, including unloading and loading trucks, and checking in of merchandise.
7. Verify and record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
8. Maintain and replenish supply of repair parts, Keys and Lock Cores, as well as Wall Mounting Installation Kits
9. Assist with counting of physical inventory and items awaiting shipment.
10. Move and reposition items to allow for additional receiving
11. Ensuring warehouse is accessible and safe for all employees and visitors.
12. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times including making sure that furniture areas are swept, dusted, and mopped as needed.
13. Print Packing Lists and Delivery Manifests to accompany outbound shipments
14. Serve as point of contact and Project Manager for major installation jobs when necessary.
15. Make sure that “Items Needing Attention” (i.e. Punchlist Items) – are promptly ordered and scheduled to complete Orders once replacements arrive from Vendor.

16. Assist with deliveries as necessary.
17. Make sure that items to be returned or held for inspection are tagged and placed in the designated area.
18. Must be available before and after normal working hours, as well as on Saturday and Sunday to oversee installations.
19. Schedule Vehicle Fleet for preventive maintenance
20. Ensure that Vehicle Fleet is Clean and Safe
21. Other duties as directed.
22. Perform all of the above while demonstrating leadership and providing a positive attitude!

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as Blueprints, Drawings, Instruction Manuals, Product Specification and Listings
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to perform, but not limited to the following tasks, be familiar with and able to interpret packing slips, enter into the computer the correct information, to acknowledge receipt of the goods into the purchase order and processing database.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
• Required to be able to follow verbal instructions and to be able to use simple math.
• Must have ability to and to show others how to assemble various types of furniture.
• Must be able to satisfactorily repair various types of furniture.
